The Laser remote is rather small, very small rubber buttons and needs a straight line shot at the STB to work, and the menu's are gray and white rather than the beautiful Strong 5432 colour palette, but for $27 I got a picture that is quality watchable, records TV on a USB or USB HDD. I returned my box back to BIG W and exchanged it for a Laser 6000 STB at half the price and a far better picture. When the menu is superimposed on the screen, it even makes the TV picture look so bad even more. The menu's have a good professional look to them and clear to use, but the same quality is sadly lacking from the TV displayed screen. The picture is the opposite of sharp even on HD stations like Channel 9 and the colour definition is woeful. It works, but you will repeat it many times till you understand how it needs to be operated. There is no solid click feel try pressing on a flexing ruler and you will get my drift. I have bought several of the different generations from Strong Tech.over the years, but this one is still the same price as the prior 5405 at $69.90 but the picture quality via HDMI cable is very poor and the remote control push button operation is pathetic.
